Test Results

It will take up to 5 working days for any blood samples taken at the Surgery to be processed by the Laboratory, for the results to be sent back to us and for these to be reviewed by your GP.

Please do not contact the Surgery about your test results until more than 5 working days have passed from the date of your blood test appointment.  If any urgent treatment is required following review of your results we will contact you.

How to get your Results

By Telephone:  You can call Reception on 01594 542270 after 2.00 pm We ask you to call after this time as are our phone lines and the Reception area are usually quieter.  The Reception staff will be able to give you the results of your test(s) and pass on any additional information added by your Doctor.

PLEASE NOTE WE ONLY GIVE OUT TEST RESULTS BY TELEPHONE AFTER 2 PM.

Given the high volume of calls we are currently receiving, we regret that if you call outside of these times you will be asked to call back.

By Text Message:  If there is a mobile number on your record, your GP or a member of our staff may send you a text message with information about your results and any action required.  Please make sure you notify us of any change to your contact details to ensure you receive our messages.

From your Online Medical Record:   If you have online access to your medical record, you will be able to view your results and any comments added by the Doctor as soon as these are available.

Given the very high demand for appointments we regret we are unable to book a GP appointment solely to receive your test results unless we have been asked to do so by your Doctor.  If your Doctor needs to speak to you or see you face to face about your results our Reception Staff will arrange this for you.

Blood Tests Requested by the Hospital

If your tests were requested by the Hospital then the results will go back directly to the person who requested them and not to the Surgery.  You should contact the Hospital Clinician responsible for your care to obtain the results.

If you have been referred for an X-Ray or Ultrasound Scan, you may want to read our page giving you information on how to book your scan together with contact telephone numbers and the opening times of our local Radiology Departments.

Thank you for your co-operation.
